“The Kiwi Park is an environmentally sensitive and responsible habitat for several birds native to New Zealand. The first 50 guests received tokens allowing them to be in the Kiwi House with the naturalist. We got there early because we didn’t know if there would be a queue, which there was not. We had a little trouble with the signage and weren’t sure where to go from the visitor center. We did make it to the Kiwi House before 10:00 which is the only time to really see kiwis. We were probably in the house a half an hour before we adjusted to the dark. Then we really could see…”

At Queenstown’s Main Town Pier, KJet’s 30-minute Time Tripper takes you beneath Lake Wakatipu for a 14-minute animated journey from dinosaurs to modern Queenstown, narrated by Temuera Morrison. You then watch eels, trout, and ducks through underwater windows. Expect stairs, English narration, and no filming.

At Queenstown’s Main Town Pier, Time Tripper uses animated film to trace Earth’s story, Māori legend, glacier-carved Lake Wakatipu, and modern Queenstown. After the show, you look through the underwater observatory at trout, eels, and ducks. It is short, indoors, and easy to fit into a busy day.

Enter Queenstown’s Old Lockhart Hotel for a 30-minute walk through dark rooms, live actors, and special effects. You go in a group of up to eight, and you can call out *I Chicken Out* if the fear gets too much. Closed-toe shoes are required.

At Queenstown Bay, your English-speaking pilot takes you one-on-one in a sealed Seabreacher X cockpit. Skim at 80 kph, run underwater at 40 kph, make tight turns, and launch into the air. The ride is short, intense, and tailored from mild to wild.
“It was interesting to do and really fun for the first few jumps but it got nauseating quick. Wouldn’t do it again, don’t necessarily regret it but could’ve lived without doing it. Would’ve been a lot more worth it if I could drive it lol (but I understand why they don’t allow that).”
Ride Queenstown’s Seabreacher X from the central Beach Street berth. Your pilot controls surface runs up to 80 kph, underwater travel up to 40 kph, rolls, turns, and jumps. Mark has piloted rides, while skipper Peter is known for friendly service. The 15-minute trip can be mild or wild.
